Youth Skate at Willetton a chance for youngsters to let rip

YOUNGSTERS can drop in to the City of Canning’s skateboard and scooter competition on September 30 to grab the glory of a win.

Held at Willetton Skate Park, the Youth Skate, Scoot and BMX competition is hosted by Canning Youth Services attracts around 200 people.

The City’s Youth and Family Services team support young people living in Canning with a wide range of activities at different locations such as Willetton, Lynwood and Bentley.

Mayor Paul Ng said the event encouraged community inclusiveness.

“The competition is an event that brings young people together to participate in an activity they really enjoy. It is a great social event and an opportunity for the Canning Youth Services team to meet with the young people in our community,” he said.

“The City’s Youth and Family Services Team create opportunities throughout the year for young people and families in our community.

“This is an indispensable service that our young people in Canning really enjoy.”

Cheap hotdogs, soft drinks, free rides and airbrush tattoos will be on offer throughout the day for participants and spectators to make the most of the competition.
