ZONTA House Refuge Association is a finalist in the Telstra Business Awards for the category of social change maker.
The Awards are open to organisations that have positive social impact at the core of their purpose, and they recognise groups applying innovative solutions to address social issues.
Zonta House is a refuge organisation that also offers programs to empower women.
Its chief executive, Kelda Opperman, said the team was excited about the news.
“This is exceptional recognition of our organisation, our service delivery, strategy and vision,” she said.
“Congratulations everyone, and everything crossed for the awards night on August 16.”
Zonta House lodged a 10,000 word application with a two-minute video to enter the awards, and an interview was held with two judges on site at Zonta’s Willetton head office.
The State awards night will be held on August 16 and winners of each category will go on to the national awards night on September 20.
