IN response to the recent letter headlined “Post cards early”, it would have been enlightening if the Post Office had announced that all mail now goes through Sydney.
I suspected this when a present for our twins’ 21st birthday did not arrive. We are a small family so this was a big disappointment to them and my daughter-in-law who goes to so much trouble.
Her response was “It’s so frustrating when items don’t arrive on time!” as she lamented the spoiled event.
Indeed, with daily services also cut, we now need to face possible embarrassment when being presumptuous and alerting overseas contacts to post our mail early.
