I READ with great astonishment the letter in the December 10 edition from Mike Nahan MLA.
I did not know that he had the power of foretelling the future, or the power to direct the actions of the future Melville council.
Dr Nahan seems to be absolutely sure that nothing will change when Canning’s excellent aged-care services, Herald Avenue Senior Citizens Centre, our libraries and Leisureplex are stolen by the State Government and given to Melville.
It is impossible for him to know what the new amalgamated Melville council will decide to do and since its track record on the matters of aged care has been nowhere near as good as Canning, there appears to be no grounds for his optimism.
My experience tells me that politicians in general change their mind once they are elected and nothing is certain.
