Nanna’s dilemma

AFTER having Mother’s Day advertisements being played on every channel night and day urging folk to buy, buy, buy, why doesn’t the retail trade have an exchange garment policy where one can exchange gifts that are not the correct size?

Nightwear from Kmart my grandchildren gave me is in this category but I cannot exchange it unless I take it to the store from which it was purchased with a receipt.

I don’t know the former and haven’t got the latter.

I tried to exchange it at my nearest branch. Its service desk was unmanned so I went to the checkout, where the lass repeated that nothing could be done unless I had a receipt.

I wanted to exchange it, but in this time of instant dialogue it is not possible because stock numbers will not add up.

I will keep my present as it was given to me with an enormous amount of love and kisses and I do not want to dash their enthusiasm by asking for receipts that have been lost.
