Payback time

BILL GLEESON, RivertonCanning Gazette

Whilst I am not clairvoyant, my 20 years’ experience in local government told me that the mayor and his council were not running council with good governance. Sadly, my predication has come true.

It’s interesting that some councillors chose to resign early rather than have the stigma of being dismissed.

Commissioner Reynolds has to be congratulated for his term of office as an interim council. The Government gave him the position and it would seem his dismissal was payback time for his criticism of the government process of the local government reform.
