Sentiments ignored

AS a former Canning City councillor’s wife, I feel compelled to write again in desperation regarding the proposed loss of our prime location’s identity.

Way back in the 1970s and beyond, we enjoyed a focused, lively City with the same courtesy extended by its officers; be they patrol, library staff or otherwise employed for our collective benefit.

The late Len Bartlett and Ron Oakenfull, Don Briggs, Geoff Roberts and many others worked inspirationally, and always with courtesy, towards the progress of our young City, which is now the envy of other municipalities.

Many of my fellow Canning City neighbours share my concern and utter disappointment at the undemocratic push for change in which our sentiments are totally ignored.
