THE urban sprawl that runs in a continuous line of houses has seen an end to small towns or outlying suburbs marking their boundaries with welcome signs or arches.

For some of these places, the entrance is now via the train station, which it is for visitors to Queens Park.

Who decided on this approach?

Not the local residents: their gardens and houses are well kept and nice to walk past.

Local business? They seem to be keeping up appearances.

Who has not seen the need to have a crosswalk from the train station to the footpath for pedestrian safety?

Who is in charge of keeping the streets free of litter?

Who allows owners of vacant commercial property to mow their weeds and not remove the litter before or after the mowing?
