I am particularly concerned that they are deliberately and unnecessarily frightening elderly and vulnerable people in our community.

The dedicated and much-needed services that the elderly in this electorate enjoy will continue regardless of which council in the future administers them.

I join with the Minister for Local Government in condemning the practice of targeting elderly residents with misinformation about what might happen in the future.

In July 2015, when the new boundaries have been finalised and the new process commences ” whatever it may be ” aged-care residents will still live in the same facility in the same street and in the same suburb.

Any speculation that aged-care facilities will close or that their vital services will no longer be provided is unhelpful and incorrect.
