Cannington resident believes voting is cruical in the upcoming election.

WITH a record number of candidates as councillor and mayor for the forthcoming council elections, it is more important for the residents to exercise their vote.

With a record number standing for both types of office, if the vote is as normal around 30 per cent of the electorate it will cause the vote to be very much split and bring the possibility of a mayor or councillor being elected with a couple of hundred votes.

A very good letter a few weeks ago pointed out that we need new blood on council not tainted by the past or political connections.

Compliments of the Premier and his Treasurer we nearly lost our City and only by the perseverance of some dedicated people are we now in the position we are in.

Pass around the word we need to vote.
