FOR fresh and local produce and a great community feel, you cannot go past Rustico Gourmet Grocer.

With an extensive career in the food sales and hospitality sector, owner operator Giusep Pizzata and his wife Domenica have created a beautiful modern cafe and grocer with a warm family feel.

Customers may see their young children Leo (29 months) and Georgia (14 months) in the shop following their daddy around.

“We love being a part of the local community,” Mr Pizzata said.

“When we first opened three years ago, we worked really hard to win over the locals’ trust.

“We wanted to show everyone that we were here to provide them with beautiful fresh produce as well as the best service possible.”

Rustico Gourmet Grocer sells only the freshest fruit and vegetables, as well as a range of continental meats, cheeses, antipasto products and artisan breads.

A huge range of home-made meals, cakes and sweets are available daily, there is an extensive catering menu and a great variety of gluten-free and organic products.

Always looking to bring customers new products, the hot lunch options will be extended with a soup and pasta of the day leading into the cooler months.

“I believe good food brings all of us together and helps us find a common point of view,” Mr Pizzata said.

“One of the greatest sources of joy is what happens around the dinner table and we want to share our passion with our customers from the moment they enter our store.”

Rustico is proud to offer the best local products and chooses to work with local farmers, fishermen, butchers, bakers, and cheesemakers who share the passion for making the highest quality food and beverages,

Starting this weekend, there will be a Meet the Maker Day in store on the first Saturday of every month.

Customers can meet at least three suppliers in store, offering tastings of their products, and enjoy competitions and specials of the day.

“We would love to invite everyone to come in store and share in the delicious tastings, as well as meet our suppliers and ask any questions they may have,” Mr Pizzata said.

“I will be pulling on an apron and cooking up one of my favourite meals to help showcase the amazing produce we have on offer.

“Whether you come in store to buy a loaf of bread, get ingredients to prepare a lavish dinner, or sit down and enjoy a coffee in our cafe, we want our customers to be comfortable, happy, and enriched by every visit.”

Rustico is open seven days from 6.30am to 6pm.
