Back-to-back losses for Curtin

Back-to-back losses for Curtin

In a smash-and-grab performance by the home side, late goals to Melville’s Sasha Slavujevic and Simon El Chami cancelled out Fraser Grant’s early strike for Curtin.

In the 13th minutes, Grant got Curtin underway with a smart header at the near post from a corner.

Melville scored next as Slavujevic’s strike took a wicked deflection and left Curtin keeper Calum McMulkin stranded.

There was late drama when, with only five minutes left to play, Melville hit Curtin on the counter and El Chami fired into the top corner from 18 yards to give his team the lead.

Curtin had a late penalty shout waved away.

Melville then had a player sent off as he took down Tikoft.

Curtin’s Carlo Chiellini could not capitalise from the resultant free kick and Melville took all three points from the encounter.

Curtin will play host to Balga on Friday night.
