David CantoniCanning Gazette

Nathan Smith and Eddie Tikoft worked tirelessly for the home team but the visitors took their chances and earned their win the hard way in an end-to-end thriller on Friday night. In a rollercoaster game, Curtin’s Norwegian centre back Nicolay Morland was sent off after a second yellow card and Mark Lucas scored two goals.

There were chances galore but Curtin could not break down a resolute Melville team that held on in the last 15 minutes for a determined win.

Curtin travel to Balga next Saturday to take on their old rivals at Princess Road |Reserve before hosting title contenders Joondalup United on Friday, May 30.
