The club will celebrate the milestone on Sunday, March 29, from 1pm to 4.30pm at its training centre at Shelley Reserve, Koolan Drive.

Club president Lana Glogowski said the anniversary celebrations provided an opportunity for past and present players and members to come together.

‘The Rossmoyne Netball Club has really enjoyed terrific success in recent years, including last year, winning more premierships than any other club in the Fremantle Netball Association competition,’ she said.

‘The success of the club, however, is not just measured by winning teams, but also positive team spirit, friendship and great sportsmanship.’

This year, more than 250 players have registered, meaning nearly 30 teams will take to the court in the coming season.

Ms Glogowski said she hoped the club continued to develop over the next four decades.

‘We certainly are trying to get a facility developed at the courts so we can further develop the club,’ she said.

‘We want to be able to continue what we are doing well ” having a nice environment at the club and good quality coaches encouraging our players to play to the very best of their ability.’

The club was established in 1976.

Its first president, Molly Rodgers, helped build membership in the first six years to more than 220 players with 25 teams.

The City of Canning built the netball courts and shelter at Shelley reserve in 1980-1981, recently resurfaced the four courts and provided new lighting in 2013.
