Cougars no competition for Warnbro

It was a tough loss for the Cougar Colts against league contenders Warnbro as they press for a top two position in the finals – the final score showed 4.10.34 – 9.3.57. Luke Tafua took best on ground honours, supported by Dan Roy-McGregor and Josh Newman.

In the Reserves Grade, the Cougars were still looking for their first win of the season, but Warnbro gained traction in the final three quarters to record 5.5.35 – 19.17.131, a 96-point victory. Best on ground went to Darren McGuiness, supported by Ayden Wood-Stribley and Aaron Ottoway.

In the League Game, the back-to-back Premiers were coming up against one of the competition favourites in the Warnbro Swans.

The Cougars had some Colts players fill in some vacant places but went down 6.11.47 – 22.18.150, the first 100 plus loss in the club’s history. Notable players on the day were Tama Tafua, Adam Barter and James Duffy. Next week, the Cougars are at home in a must win game against Quinns Districts.
