WILLETTON’S finals hopes continue to nosedive after suffering their fourth consecutive defeat in Premier Cricket on Saturday.

Liam Guthrie stood up in the absence of Josh Nicholas to take 3-23, as the Dragons were bowled out for 176 in pursuit of Perth’s day one score of 9-273.

D’Arcy Short was destructive on his return to grade cricket with 49, while skipper Matt Johnston scored 47, with the pair lacking support from other batsmen.

Dean Nelson took 2-29 from his 11 overs, as the Dragons were bowled out in the 56th over.

Perth finished 1-73 in the second innings, with Jacob Van Galen making a run-a-ball 45 not out to put an exclamation mark on a great win.

The Dragons are now down in ninth with three rounds to play before finals.
