Cricket teams battle weather

Second grade got off to a flying start in the two-day game against Riverton, with Steve Kentwell making 53 and Luke Fisher 41, before a middle order collapse saw them finish on 7/145.

Fourth grade was in a good position at 3/128 when the rain arrived at home for Riverton. Shaun Griffiths was unbeaten on 47 and Vishal Khairnar made 32.

Sixth grade took on SJ Blues at home with the Blues making 7/189. Wes Milburn took 2/27 and Derek Mott 2/42. The One Day Ds were thankful the rain arrived in their match against Thornlie, with the Crows 2/70 chasing 218 for victory, forcing a no result. Manan Trivedi took 4/34.

The One Day Fs made 7/219 with Jason Duval top scoring 73 in his first game for the club. Kris Holford also made 34. In reply, Kelmscott were 3/47 and Tim Holford took 2/15 before rain ended the game and the teams shared the points.
