Khaled Salhah was outstanding for Curtin against Joondalup.

The win ensured Joondalup would be crowned champions of the Football West State League second division.

Man of the match Adam Buckley and substitute Ricky Gardiner scored goals either side of half time, putting the undefeated Joondalup side in the clear front.

Curtin’s Khaled Salhah and Eddie Tikoft were the best for the visitors, but they could not find a way to break down the home side.

Nine minutes into the game, Joondalup took the lead after a long throw was flicked on and Buckley put the ball away from close range.

Curtin fought back and went agonisingly close as Fraser Grant raced through on goal, chipped the advancing James Bosdet, only for his effort to go centimetres over the bar. After half time, Curtin seemed to get into some rhythm, but as they committed more forward they were left exposed at the back.
