Talisman Carlo Chiellini scored either side of the halftime break to give the home team a 2-0 victory and move them to third place on the ladder.

Man of the match Chiellini was well supported by strong performances from defenders Chase Parker and Bryce Young.

Calum McMulkin also did well as goalkeeper.

Coach Daniel Jones said the team defended well.

‘It wasn’t pretty at times but to get a result against a quality side like Forrestfield is a credit to the boys,’ Jones said.

‘They played with heart and for each other tonight and their work rate was immense.’

With 20 minutes gone, Chiellini opened the scoring as he placed a free kick into the bottom corner of the net to give Curtin the lead against the run of play.

Curtin held on as Forrestfield launched raid after raid but could not break down the home team’s defences and it was a 1-0 scoreline at the half-time break.

It was more of the same after half time as Forrestfield peppered the Curtin goal but Young and Parker held strong at the back to reduce the visitors to long-range efforts.

In a short period of dominance for Curtin, Kristian Beven’s ball to the back post left an unmarked Chiellini to prod home from six yards.

It was not the visitors’ night as their last effort rocketed into the cross bar in added time.
