Size does not mean everything to the 17-year-old, who has an Australian men�s ranking of 294.
On top of that, the Year 12 Aquinas College student has bragging rights as the school�s best tennis player.
He was named as Aquinas� champion tennis player last year.
Marcus partly has his three older brothers to thank for his tennis success.
Bored watching them bat and bowl at cricket, he decided to go with a friend to play tennis.
He hasn�t looked back since, with his love of the game growing while his talent has flourished.
�I enjoy the mental challenge, friends and travelling,� Marcus said.
The athlete was selected in the State School Sport tennis team.
On May 1, the team travelled to Hobart to compete in the Pizzey Cup; WA finished fourth.
�I only lost in my matches against Victoria and New South Wales,� Marcus said.
Training on average two hours a day under the guidance of coach Nathan Nelmes and juggling homework, he hopes to it all pays off.
Marcus wants a scholarship to an American College.
