RIVERTON Aquanauts have achieved a fine result at Swimming WA’s State Age Short Course Championships.

The club finished a more-than-credible 11th out of 40 at HBF Stadium, with six swimmers claiming medals.

16-year-old Andrew Nguyen won silver in the 50m Breaststroke and two bronze in the 200m and 100m breaststroke.

Meanwhile, 15-year-old Jordan Preece won silver in both the 200m breaststroke and 50m backstroke and 12-year-old Jacob Hale took silver in the 100m butterfly.

Head Coach Gemma Herrington coached the 12 swimmers who took part and said she was delighted with the performance of all of her swimmers.

“Most of our swimmers finished in the top 8 in their favourite events, but more impressively the team managed to record new personal best times in 77 per cent of their races,” she said.

“The thrill of seeing the club cheer on its team mates to some huge personal best times makes me proud to be involved in the club.”

The club is on the look out for new members and registrations have opened for the 2018-19 season.
