ON the first day of the Olympics, Riverton Aquanauts swimmers cheered on the Rio Olympic swimming team while they competed at a Swimming WA event.
The club took 19 swimmers to the competition, supported by head coach Gemma Herrington and achieved an amazing 51 personal best times on the day.
“I’m happy to see that all of the hard work is helping these swimmers improve so much at these State level events,” she said.
“The confidence they have is improving every event and I’m so proud of them all.”
The swimmers brought home eight gold, six silver and five bronze medals.
The club welcomes new swimmers of all ages and abilities to come and have a try, so come down to the next club night on September 2 and have a go.
