Riverton Aquanauts swimmers shatter personal bests at state championships

Ben SmithCanning Gazette

RIVERTON Aquanauts have enjoyed a successful weekend at the Swimming WA Short Course Junior State Championships, with swimmers recording a number of personal bests.

The club had 18 swimmers aged from 8-12 take part over the course of the championships and 85 per cent of the 78 swims resulted in new personal bests.

Matthew Loffler (12) proved to be one of the club’s best on the weekend, winning gold in the 200m breaststroke and claiming two silver medals in the 100m and 50m breaststroke.

Loffler was quick to pay tribute to his teammates and head coach Gemma Herrington in the aftermath of his results.
