THERE was much to celebrate for the ambitious Curtin University Football Club’s Socceroos and their families recently.

The club’s under 9s team was crowned the Hartfield Cup champions and the under 8s team recorded their best result yet since the start of the season with a whopping 12 -nil victory against one of the top sides in the competition.

To celebrate after a training exercise team members stormed their club’s sponsor Oporto restaurant in South Perth for a meal and to also acknowledge the business’s contribution in their club’s development.

President Campbell Ballantyne said special soccer programs were run for children as young as five as well as special programs for junior youth and men and women of all ages.

“We have players well into their senior years who still play in our masters team,” he said.

“So if you want to play football we have a team for you to play throughout the year every year.”
