Stellar seasons recognised at 2018 WA football awards

QUEENS Park’s Katarina Jukic and ECU Joondalup’s Daryl Nicol were rewarded for stellar seasons on the pitch with the 2018 WA Football Awards’ highest honours.

The pair won the All Flags Women’s Gold Medal and All Flags Men’s Gold Medal respectively as Football West’s players of the year.

The award capped off a successful 2018 for Nicol, who was also named joint winner of the National Premier Leagues WA Golden Boot as the competition’s top goal scorer.

Jukic, who also took out the Women’s Premier Division Golden Boot, said she “really didn’t expect this” after taking out the medal for the second year running.

Perth Glory’s Jake Brimmer won the Dylan Tombides Young Player of the Year award.
