Takahashi ready to step up into the big league

The strong-finishing black bitch from Ben Abercrombie’s kennels recorded her sixth win in a row when she won her heat on Saturday night.

Pushed wide and to the rear of the field at the first turn, Takahashi had every excuse to give up, but her unwavering will to win carried her to victory.

She found a way through the field and overpowered the leader Thunder Rama in the home straight to score in 30.79sec.

The super-competitive final includes Astronomic, Star Recall and High Recall.

Star Recall notched the fastest heat time with an all-the-way win in 30.37sec and Astronomic continued his superb form with his fourth triumph in his past five starts when he saluted in 30.45sec.
