Tigers fall to Giants on road

Quinn McDowellCanning Gazette

Despite out-rebounding the Giants and attempting 18 more shots, the Tigers lost their third game in a row and fell to last place on the SBL ladder.

Kalgoorlie rode a wave of hot shooting in the first quarter that allowed them to jump out to an early 17-point lead.

The Tigers fought back in the second, ultimately cutting the deficit to a single point at the halfway mark.

But the Giants came out of half-time and methodically took over the game for the next two quarters on the back of 50 per cent shooting from the field and 45 per cent from the three-point line.

Although Nic Cody, Quinn McDowell and John Dickson combined to score 80 points, the Tigers only managed to shoot 38 per cent from the field.

The Tigers will look to get their season back on track when they host the Lakeside Lightning next Saturday at Willetton Stadium.
