WA Thundersticks gearing up to take on Great Britain as part of its Olympic preparations

Pia van StraalenCanning Gazette

THE WA Thundersticks take on international powerhouse Great Britain in two practice games this month as Great Britain prepare for upcoming tests against the Kookaburras and its Olympic Games campaign.

On May 16 and 18, Perth Hockey Stadium will host back-to-back fixtures before Great Britain take on the might of the Kookaburras in a three test series starting in Narrogin on May 21 and concluding at Perth Hockey Stadium on May 24.

For the Thundersticks, this unique opportunity to play against one of the great teams in world hockey comes off the back of a 2016 schedule that has already seen nearly 50 athletes involved in a series of games and events including games against Liaoning Province and Malaysia.
