They put in a great effort on the boards, winning the rebound battle 41-36 while holding Perth to 28 per cent shooting from the field.

Mel Marsh made her season debut in the 67-45 thumping of the Perry Lakes Hawks on Saturday night.

But the star of the night proved to be Antonia Edmondson, who finished with the impressive stats of 23 points, six rebounds and six assists.

In contrast, the Willetton men suffered two defeats, in what proved to be a disappointing weekend.

Willetton yielded 129 points to the Redbacks and allowed them to shoot 56 per cent from the floor, on their way to a 129-112 defeat.

On Saturday night, Willetton turned in an eerily similar performance against the Perry Lakes Hawks, which again shot over 50 per cent from the field on their way to a 132-112 route.

The Willetton men will look to turn their season around as they travel to Kalgoorlie to take on the Goldfield Giants this Saturday.

The women will have the week off but will return to action as the Tigers host the Lakeside Lightning over the Easter weekend.
