THE State’s south-west could receive a lashing this morning with thunderstorms and damaging winds up to 100kmh expected.
The Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology predicts homes and property could be damaged from Bunbury to Albany by 8am due to a low pressure system is passing close to the southwest corner.
Tides between Bunbury and Albany are likely to rise above the normal high tide mark with very rough seas and potential flooding of low-lying coastal areas from early this morning, extending north to Mandurah and east to Esperance late Tuesday morning.
Conditions are expected to ease from the west during the late morning and afternoon.
The Department of Fire and Emergency Services advises that people should find safe shelter, stay away from windows, unplug electrical appliances and keep away from flooded drains, rivers, streams and waterways.
