Megan plays 12-year-old Marcy Park, who she said has to deal with her parents constantly wanting her to win.

“She’s been paraded around in various disciplines to support their ego,” she said.

“Marcy has been deprived of a childhood because she was constantly practising and competing and had unfairly high expectations placed on her.

“The character is incredibly talented in so many disciplines and this requires a lot of versatility and strength.

“Not only can she parade around performing but she can do it all while singing.”

The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee is on select dates between May 3 and 11 at the Armadale District Hall.

Tickets start from $20 and can be purchased from www.roleystonetheatre.com.au.
