A COOGEE resident is wrapped up in a case of mistaken identity in a new production at the Melville Theatre.

Peter Neaves is starring in fast-paced comedy Cash on Delivery as con artist Eric Swan, a man who has gotten away with duping authorities for years when he claims benefits for the scores of people he says lives at his home.

Neaves said laughs ensue when his character starts to think he will get caught and begins to kill off his imaginary house mates.

“Unfortunately, an investigator has arrived at his home to confirm his lodger Rupert is still suffering with gout and still eligible for disability payments,” he said.

“As Rupert emigrated to Canada several years before, Eric pretends to be Rupert and all goes well until the investigator needs the landlord to witness his signature.

“With Eric pretending to be Rupert, he tries to get his current lodger Norman to be Eric instead but false claims have also been made in Norman’s name.”

Fremantle resident Lis Hoffmann will also appear in the production in the role of Ms Cowper.

Cash on Delivery is at the Melville Theatre on select dates from September 14 to 29.

Tickets start from $15 and can be purchased at www.meltheco.org.au or by calling 9330 4565..
