MORE than 20 years of artistic endeavour will be celebrated in a new exhibition at Hamilton Hill’s Memorial Hall.

Art has been a part of Cockburn’s Ana Poznanovic life for more than 25 years, the artist drawing on her fascination of forests, fields, rivers and animals to inspire hundreds of creative pieces.

Ms Poznanovic said she loved art because it made her “calm, happy and satisfied”.

“I’ve always loved art and always wanted to do it as my prime occupation,” she said.

“I ended up studying economics and working in economics field, but I always knew that one day I’d do art primarily.”

She said there was no better way to celebrate the 25-year milestone then to share her work with the art-loving community in a solo exhibition.

The exhibition will include 70 pieces incorporating each phase of her artistic journey.

“Throughout the years I’ve painted landscapes, seascapes, animals,” she said.

“I also love fashion design, so I’ve painted swimming suits and at this upcoming exhibition I am trying to show a few pieces of each phase.

“There are going to be different mediums which I used throughout the years-oil on canvas, pastels, chalk and acrylic.

“People should come to see this exhibition because it contains a variety of subjects and techniques and most of the paintings are presented in a happy and uplifting mood.”

The exhibition is at Hamilton Hill’s Memorial Hall from June 1 to 5.
