THE audience will be begging for more after watching Laughing Horse Productions’ upcoming family friendly production of Oliver!

Spearwood’s Royce Newall is among the talented cast taking to the stage for the musical adaptation of Charles Dickens’ Oliver Twist, taking on two roles as well-to-do Englishman Mr Brownlow and the local police officer.

Newall said he was drawn to the popular production because of it’s background and the chance to be challenged in a role.

“Oliver! appealed because it has a historical English setting, which provides an opportunity for old-fashioned costumes, characters and sets,” he said.

“I also like to get involved in shows where I can meet and work with new people.

“The main challenge is the accent and posh expression that goes with it.”

Director Adam Salathiel said it was a show for everyone.

“It’s one of those shows that everyone can enjoy, despite it being set in the dark macabre world of 19th century London,” he said.

“It has some quite dark moments but also some amazing touches of love and compassion that will take audiences on an amazing emotional roller coaster journey.”

Oliver! Is at the Koorliny Arts Centre, Kwinana on select dates from July 12 to 20.

Tickets start from $20 and can be purchased from koorliny.com.au/oliver or on 9467 7118.
