Beeliar: Eats and Beats concert to kick off festive season

Jessica NicoCockburn Gazette

KICK off the festive season in style with a special party in Beeliar on December 7.

Two of the most important aspects of a party are food and music, which Beeliar Community Voice (BCV) has organised in spades for the upcoming Eats and Beats festival.

As well as a variety of food trucks and live entertainment, the festive concert event will also include raffles, a photo booth, face painting, climbing wall, bouncy castle and bungee trampolines.

BCV president Wendy Campbell said it was also an Act-Belong-Commit event, with a special focus on promoting mental health.

“This time of year can be quite lonely for many people, so we decided to host a vibrant, low cost event that will help create a sense of belonging, give an opportunity to connect with others and reduce social isolation,” she said.

“What better way to achieve this than to have lots of food, fun and music.

“The event will be non-denominational, and everyone is welcome to come along and enjoy the evening with their community.

“With the final rush towards the end of the year, it will be a great opportunity to take a break and just enjoy the night with loved ones.”

More than $18,000 of grants have been secured from Lotterwest, Healthway, the City of Cockburn, Scoop and Beeliar Gardens to help BCV hold the event.

Eats and Beats is at Beeliar Reserve from 5pm to 9.30pm on December 7.
