BIBRA Lake contractor Aurora Electrical is in the running for a national award after taking home the Master Electricians Australia’s WA Commercial Project of the Year title.

The local outfit was recognised for its work at Cleanaway’s $20 million materials recovery facility in Guildford, which opened in May.

Director Brendan Balcombe said the win was great recognition from the industry, clients and peers.

“It allows us to elevate our profile to assist winning future high quality projects,” he said.

“It provides external recognition to our suppliers and helps to strengthen our commitment and vision.”

Mr Balcombe’s team completed all electrical and communications infrastructure within the Guildford facility.

“It was exciting to be given the opportunity to be involved with a project that was the largest of its kind in the southern hemisphere, using the latest cutting edge technology,” he said.

State award winners qualify for November’s national awards in Brisbane.
