CITY of Cockburn Inspirational Volunteer of the Year winner Christine Duckham has picked up another big accolade.
Ms Duckham was named the Community Citizen of the Year 2019 at Cockburn’s annual Australia Day citizenship ceremony in recognition of her work establishing the Hamilton Hill Hub.
The Community Citizen of the Year – Youth award went to Eliza Blight, who volunteers with the Cockburn Youth Advisory Collective and fundraises for Native Arc, while the Senior award went to Geoff Webb for his work getting the Cockburn Community Men’s Shed up and running.
The Active Citizenship – Group or Event went to Beeliar Community Voice for promoting inclusiveness and wellbeing in their suburb.
