COCKBURN ARC will embrace the colour purple more than usual when they commemorate Purple Bra Day.

Over the span of a week ARC staff will be donning purple clothes and bras and holding a number of fundraising initiatives in support of Breast Cancer Care WA.

Cockburn ARC marketing and communications coordinator Caroline Lindsay said they would be holding a fundraising morning tea, staff and lifeguards would be dressing up in purple and purple biscuits and raffle tickets would also be for sale.

“Here at the ARC we have many men and women who are affected by breast cancer, either directly themselves or by supporting friends or family members,” she said.

“While it’s important to donate to help raise funds for organisations such as Breast Cancer Care WA, it’s also important that we get people talking about breast cancer and raising overall awareness.

“With 1.4 million people through our doors every year we’re a busy community hub where people of all ages and backgrounds come together to exercise and socialise.

“We are in a perfect position to get the conversation underway.”

Cockburn ARC’s Purple Bra Day fundraisers will run from June 17.
