Cockburn ARC one of six organisations to be recognised for aquatic safety

COCKBURN Aquatic and Recreation Centre (ARC) has been recognised for its contribution to aquatic safety within their community.

Cockburn ARC was one of six individuals and organisations recognised in the National Aquatic Industry Safety Awards last week.

Cockburn ARC manager Brett McEwin said the aquatics team undertook extensive training.

“This includes a combination of hands-on training both internally and externally, online training and in-centre mentoring,” he said.

“The staff are what set our facility apart and we encourage the community to provide ongoing feedback.”

Mr McEwin said being considered for the award was a huge honour.

“It’s an acknowledgement of the hard work and dedication shown by the team to our amazing community since opening the facility to the public just over 12 months ago,” he said.

“There has been a huge level of interest in the award.”
