Cockburn artists works to go on sale at Memorial Hall

WORKS by members of the Cockburn Art Group will go on sale at the Memorial Hall in Hamilton Hill from August 25.

The exhibition includes art by Lal Harding – who has had solo exhibitions of her acrylic works in Margaret River and Perth – and Pat Reed, who has exhibited in many Cockburn exhibitions.

Sculpture by the Sea contributor Ray Surman is also part of the exhibiting group.

He has held a handful of solo exhibitions and exhibited internationally.

Maureen Chester trained at Busselton Tafe in art and design and was a potter before taking up painting again seven years ago. Her works feature acrylic and pastel.

Her daughter Debra Kessey will exhibit large abstracts.

Fremantle gallery owner Ana Poznanovic spent four years training in Europe and specialised in icons.

Her latest artworks feature pastels.

Frances Myshell’s preferred medium is watercolour and her husband Terry Stone is trained in technical, watercolour and life drawing.

James Lowry and Fernanda De Sousa will also contribute to the exhibition, which will be held in the hall on the corner of Carrington Street and Rockingham Road in Hamilton Hill from August 25 to 27.

Jo Roberts wraps up the group with a focus on acrylic and the construction of abstract bead “trees”.

Door will be open from 10am to 4pm.
