DOGS in Piara Waters and surrounds will soon have a fun new park to call their own.

Developers of Stockland’s Newhaven estate have begun construction of a new dog park off Piara Drive.

The 6000sqm space will include separate fenced areas for small and large dogs, a range of agility equipment, bench seating and drinking fountains for dogs and their owners.

The space will also be home to free RSPCA dog training classes.

Stockland WA general manager Col Dutton said the new dog park would be a great addition to the area.

“This park has been designed to promote a healthy lifestyle for the dogs of Newhaven and it is also a great place for the local community to come together in safe recreational zones,” he said.

“We have had an overwhelming response to the free RSPCA dog training classes and we’re pleased residents will have a new recreational area to guide their pooches through everything from basic etiquette to impressive party tricks.”

The new dog park is expected to open in December.
