THERE is no seven year itch for Sarah McDonald when it comes to participating in the Ride to Conquer Cancer.
The cyclist is gearing up for her seventh crack at the fundraising event as part of a team made up of Coogee Beach Surf Life Saving Club members.
They will join the hundreds of cyclists expected to make the 200km journey from Perth to Mandurah to raise money for the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research.
Ms McDonald said the Coogee Cycling Crew was looking to add to the $120,000 they had raised in the last six rides.
“It is such a wonderful event riding alongside so many people with inspiring stories,” she said.
“There is always someone we know who has been touched by cancer.
“One of our team members Paul, who has completed the ride a few times, is also suffering with brain cancer himself so he is certainly a driving force to continue each year.
“The amount of funds raised with a relative small number of rides is just astounding so am always inspired to keep coming back and do what we can to help the cause.”
The Perth Ride to Conquer Cancer is on October 13 and 14.
