Jessica NicoCockburn Gazette

A GROUP of Bibra Lake dancers will be jetsetting to the United States to perform at popular tourist destinations.

The Kerry Gough Gotta Dance school troupe of 12 dancers aged seven to 14 who will be embarking on the 2020 trip to California will get to perform in front of an international audience at Disneyland, the Hollywood Walk of Fame and Universal Studios.

On top of the performances they will also march in the Disneyland parade, take part in dance workshops and enjoy some sightseeing.

To help them get there, the dance school will be holding a special community fundraising event at Cockburn Ice Arena on May 25.

Kerry Gough Gotta Dance school principal teacher Natasha Hodgson said they had done the trip previously in 2016 and it had been such an experience that they wanted to do it again.

“We went on the adventure of a lifetime with our first group of dancers to perform and enjoy the Disney experience and we just had to go again and give this amazing experience we had the first time to other families,” she said.

“In the ice skating event we will be playing some games on the ice, skating to fun music, enjoying time with our friends and also we will have a very talented balloon artist there to make balloon animals.

“Locals should attend because it will be a fun night for a great cause; they will be supporting local families and dancers to experience the trip of a lifetime and to participate in some amazing dance opportunities, which will be something they will never forget.”

The fundraising event will be on May 25 from 5pm to 7pm at Cockburn Ice Arena.
