Driver charged over alleged hit and run

A DRIVER who allegedly crashed into a pedestrian in Jandakot and fled the scene has been charged.

Police said a 22-year-old man, who was a passenger in a ride-share car, was struck by a passing car as he got out on Solomon Road.

The crash occurred on February 8 at 3am.

The driver of the passing car allegedly did not stop and continued along Solomon Road before turning right onto Jandakot Road.

Police said the victim was taken to Royal Perth Hospital with life-threatening injuries and was still receiving treatment.

A 41-year-old man from Warnbro has been charged with failing to stop and ensure assistance or fail a report after an incident occasioning grievous bodily harm.

He will appear in the Fremantle Magistrates’ Court today.
