A MAN is believed to have set fire to a car and a bus after a crash in Bibra Lake this morning.

Just after 11am today, a man driving a bronze-coloured Toyota Camry hit a structure on Port Kembla Drive in Bibra Lake.

The Toyota lost its front bumper and front wheel in the crash.

The driver has continued on before crashing into a stationary Coaster bus parked outside a property on Port Kembla Drive.

No-one was injured in the crash.

It is believed the driver then set fire to the Camry and bus.

DFES were called to extinguish the fire.

The male driver walked away from the scene and was apprehended by police a short time later.

A man in his 40s has been taken into custody and is assisting police with their investigation into this matter.

A preliminary investigation does not indicate this is a gang related incident and the driver is unknown to the occupants of the residence on Port Kembla Drive or the owners of the coaster bus.

Local detectives are investigating and anyone who saw the bronze coloured Toyota Camry sedan in the area prior to the crash, or any of the crashes, is asked to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or report online at www.crimestopperswa.com.au.
