Drone photo shows Coogee jetty as never before

WE have seen Coogee jetty from the water, the sand and from the sky, but it is unlikely the popular recreation spot has ever been presented as the “Inception-style” collage created by Jaxon Roberts.

The Ellenbrook 19-year-old spent a late June afternoon using a drone to snap 40 images of the jetty.

Nine of them were then stitched together using photo editing software to create the mind-bending image drawing positive feedback online.

It was Mr Roberts’ first attempt at the painstaking technique, which required two long days of editing.

“After I took the photos I wasn’t sure if it was going to work,” he said. “I thought I might have messed up the position of the drone.

“I wanted it to be perfect. Everything had to be straight.”

Mr Roberts unveiled the creation via his Facebook page, Bird Zye View, where it generated plenty of likes, shares and comments.

“The feedback has been crazy,” he said.

“I’ve been spammed with messages from people who like the pic and people with questions about how I did it.”
