THE Garage Sale Trail (GST) will provide plenty of bargains for residents in the City of Cockburn this month.
On October 21 and 22 the national garage sale event will hit the streets with sellers including St Jerome’s Primary School, South Beach Community Group and Aubin Grove Community Association.
Launch in 2010, GST was a grass roots idea aimed to encourage reuse, celebrate creativity and bring local people together.

As a partner of the event, City of Cockburn waste education technical officer Nicki Ledger said GST was a great way of encouraging reuse of materials that would otherwise go to waste, as well as being a fun weekend to fundraise, make a little extra spending money and meet other community members.
“Residents can register their own sales, advertise on the GST website and access a range of promotional materials,” she said.
“Residents can also search a map of sales on the website to plan which sales to attend over the weekend.”
This year there are 250 sales registered to date.
