A GROUP of Cockburn Gateway management swapped the shopping centre for the great outdoors when they volunteered for Assisting Your Life to Achieve (AYLA Inc) recently.

The team of 10 spent the day at AYLA Inc’s Banjup site, getting their hands dirty building fences out of recycled material and creating trails and pathways for the garden.

AYLA Inc is a not-for-profit helping the local community via emergency relief, mental health support, crisis accommodation and providing an affordable op shop and market.

Cockburn Gateway centre manager Alexandra McAuliffe said staff were more than happy to volunteer for a good cause.

“Being able to lend a hand to an organisation doing great things in the community was fantastic; we all thoroughly enjoyed contributing to AYLA Inc,” she said.

AYLA Inc founder Scott Johnson said they were “hugely grateful” to have received the help.
