Fremantle Mayor Brad Pettitt and Fremantle Docker Alex Silvagni joined more than 100 participants enjoying a spot of fishing on the day.

Fishability executive officer Di Bruce said the program ensured every child or adult was able to experience the fun of fishing, regardless of gender, disability, race or religion.

“The day was a huge success and exceeded any expectations we had,” she said.

“The positive vibe from participants, volunteers, family and friends alike was phenomenal. We had so many people come to our East St Jetty site who had never experienced the joy of fishing before but have walked away with a new skill, new friends and a new recreational pastime to participate in.”
