Lotto success continues at Cockburn Gateway

Jessica NicoCockburn Gazette

AFTER selling five division 1 winners last year, many would be forgiven for believing Cockburn Gateway Shopping City’s two lotto centres had used up all their luck.

Success made headlines last year as the luckiest suburb in WA after Gateways News and Lottery Centre sold three winners and Cockburn Gateway Lottery Centre two.

But that luck has continued into 2019 with the former already selling a division one winner worth more than $672,000 in the February 23 Saturday Lotto draw.

Gateways News and Lottery Centre owner Robyn McDermott said their surprise had grown with every winner last year.

“When the first division winning tickets kept coming last year, the excitement grew with every draw,” she said.

“Customers do follow ‘the luck’ so we did see quite a few unfamiliar faces.

“One of our winners had never been to Gateways before and specifically came down to buy his ticket-that is following the luck.”

She said she there was high anticipation over what number they could reach this year.

“We have been given a very high bar to jump this year with five division one winners to us at Gateways last year, but you know what it is like when the challenge is given, go for it,” she said.

“Number one is already on the board.”
